Welcome to RichardParsons.co.uk, a domain name that was registered on 13th July 2000 in the name of my father-in-law, Don Barnes. NetDirect-Online.co.uk arranged the registration, free of charge, as they will do for anyone who signs up as a subscriber to their free dialup account (terms and conditions apply). Sixty two years ago, at the age of 20, Donald Richard Barnes was preparing to drive a British Army Tank around Europe and North Africa in defence of Great Britain and the free World. This Website is dedicated to all those who, every day, faced the prospect of death, serious injury or capture in defence of their Country during the 2nd World War.
Fifty one years ago my father will have been castigated by my mother for spelling my middle name with a double 'l'. My birth certificate had to be amended to read Richard Philip Parsons.

9th October 2000: I'm hoping to illustrate this Website with photos pertaining to the events that unfolded sixty years ago.
